business unit enterprise as well as supporting multiple counterparty risk leads in their specific region this role is a local escalation point for cbs ( business services) center towards local business in the geography and first point of contact for local businesses to raise areas for improvement requirements etc the assistant counterparty risk lead is available to independently perform customer visits as well as manage and develop risk mitigation solutions on a portfolio basis proactively perform in-depth portfolio analysis and share findings with the business and the fss counterparty risk team (cpr) the assistant counterparty risk lead joins and is actively participating in local sales meetings and has frequent face-to-face interaction with business management as the central point between local sales supply chain customer service and fss the assistant counterparty risk lead should translate reciprocal needs and suggest areas for continuous improvement as well as participate in its rollout and control phases this role is a backup for the counterparty risk lead for the business in the region for their activities major tasks: develop up-to-date awareness of the local market and commodity conditions and trends and be able to advise the business on areas for concern that support contract and risk management first point of contact and escalation point for cbs center and local businesses know your customers their environment their profitability and advise on potential for additional business or on the contrary presence of significant risk elements that should make the business unit revise the strategy with the customer in question such as reduce contract exposure payment terms delivery frequency etc business partnering with sales customer service department and supply chain organization of the enterprises is key and the role looks to provide added value solutions through in-depth knowledge of counterparty risk processes and tools as well as business acumen pro-actively advise businesses in their strategic direction by providing sector country and portfolio analysis and share with the cpr team supporting the team members with providing local insight and/or customer specific information seek new ways of adding value to business strategies through sector and portfolio risk measurements be in charge of locally maintaining and executing on existing risk mitigation solutions in place on a portfolio basis and driven by business needs responsible for credit documentation negotiating and administering of bank and corporate guarantees along with risk analysts and sales coordinate issuance of letters of credit and document collection used to mitigate counterparty risk be the central point of contact for legal and treasury departments to ensure guarantees and other credit support documents are timely set up along with business requirements monitor expiry and coordinate enforcement of the risk mitigation tools with all parties involved qualifications: university degree in finance/economics or equal qualification through experience proven track record of experience in financial sector and portfolio analysis or risk management 5 years of experience in a complex multinational environment in-depth understanding of risk management and risk mitigation tools such as incoterms payment tools and local contractual sales practices experience in complex reporting experience in a credit environment in similar role is a plus excellent communication and influencing skills fluent english and german (spoken & written)
